Laser Dentistry
A laser is a device capable of producing a very thin, but an intense beam of light energy. A reaction is caused when this light comes in contact with the tissues and is therefore used in shaping or removing a tissue. Lasers have been used in Dentistry since the early 90s and are presently known to be the safest and the most effective treatment for an extensive range of dental procedures.
Dental lasers can be used for the following purposes:
- Remove muscle attachments that hinder the proper movement
- Expose wisdom teeth that are partially erupted
- Perform a biopsy procedure
- Eliminate overgrown tissues
- Treatment of gum disease
- Reshape of gum tissue
- Accelerate tooth whitening procedure
- Treat infections caused in the root canals
